Change slider size

I am liking the slider but for my application I would like to be able to resize it on one of my pages to about 500px. Is there an easy way to do this that I am missing? The way i have thought about doing it is creating a second css file with different name and changing the size of the containers in there. From what I can tell without doing it the following containers would need changing:

sw_container
sw_infocomponent
sw_controlbar
sw_slider_container

If i do change these sizes
1) will it do what i want?
2) is there a formula to figuring out the sizes or would that be trail and error?
